Crash on start #1838

Description

Program crashes upon startup ever since I updated last week. Windows event viewer says: Faulting application name: sublime_merge.exe, version: 2.0.9.1, time stamp: 0x64e5622c Faulting module name: ntdll.dll, version: 10.0.22621.2428, time stamp: 0x806d3ecf Exception code: 0xc0000005

Steps to reproduce

Try to open the application ... double-click exe or click taskbar icon

Expected behavior

I expect the application to open and run

Hi @eric-cotiviti,

Thanks for reporting this issue and sorry you're running into this! I'll be investigating this further.

Could you confirm if it consistently crashes, or occasionally on startup?

In the meantime, you can revert back to the previous build by downloading the installer here: https://download.sublimetext.com/sublime_merge_build_2083_x64_setup.exe

Hi @eric-cotiviti,

Just following up on this - could you check if your GPU drivers are on the latest version? If not, could you please try installing the latest drivers to see if this resolves the issue.

It is consistently crashing.

I just updated the GPU drivers to the latest version and I am still experiencing the same problem.

Hi @eric-cotiviti,

Could you also confirm if you have OpenGL rendering enabled for Sublime Merge? You can confirm this by opening the preferences file (typically found at C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Sublime Merge\Packages) and checking for the hardware_acceleration setting.
