Surface Pro 4 Touch Keyboard Compatibility #1487

Open ghost opened 8 years ago

ghost commented 8 years ago

Summary

When you tap on a text field, the touch keyboard pulls up (appears) automatically in Windows 10 Tablet Mode. For example, you launch a browser and tap on the address field and the touch keyboard comes up automatically. However, in Sublime Text 3, that is not the case. When I tap on anywhere in the file I am viewing, the touch keyboard does not pull up automatically.

Expected behavior

Keyboard should appear automatically upon tapping on the file that is currently active in Sublime Text.

Actual behavior

Keyboard not showing unless it is manually called using the taskbar icon.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Attempt to modify an existing text file or a start new one.
  2. Tap on the screen.
  3. Keyboard is not pulling up.

Environment

Closing since no update for a year and half.

wbond commented 6 years ago

Re-opening since this is still an issue (I presume).

ghost commented 6 years ago

OK. I no longer use a Surface device. So I'm not sure if it's still an issue.

wbond commented 6 years ago

I actually just got a surface device recently, so this is something I'll be able to check out.

Thanks for looking into it!

Any update?

wbond commented 6 years ago

Unfortunately I didn’t get to it for this cycle. Most my Windows time went into the new dpi scaling compatibility with Windows 8.1 and 10.

Thanks!
