1. I tested to see if there is a plugin conflict, by deactivating all plugins
and just testing the buddy press album.
2. I tested to see if there was a theme conflict, by changing themes.

The album tab within the buddy press profile area would keep the same
appearance (layout) as the other tabs (i.e. activity, profile, notifications,
etc.)
