Data references: Source should be linkable to a base URL or and resolution service (identifiers.org) and a shorthand namespace, such that the accession number can be resolved.

This is something eLife is interested in. Currently we link all RRIDs to their SciCrunch url, but realise this is not ideal as not a PID. We're beginning to look at identifiers.org and n2t.net for things used in experiments, but had not thought about them for Data references.

We should talk about this as a group?
