Open michael opened 5 years ago

Description

Maintain a bibliography and cite references in the manuscript.

User stories

  1. As an author, I want to be able to insert/remove references to the bibliography, so I can maintain a list of all external works, I’m referring to in my article
  2. As an author, I want to be able to insert/remove citations to the text, so I can refer to other people’s work(s) at the right place
  3. As an author, I want to be able to edit existing citations, by selecting references from the bibliography or by inserting and selecting a new reference, so that I can correct a citation if necessary.
  4. As an author, I want to be able to search online for registered works and add them to the bibliography, so I don’t have to type that information manually
  5. As an author, I want to be able to import a bibliography from Zotero, so I don’t have to type that information manually
  6. As an author, I want to be able to manually create a reference filling out a form, so I can create references that are not in a database
    • Example: Websites
  7. As an author, I want to be able to edit all references so I can correct incomplete/wrong reference records resulting from importing from an online or offline database
  8. As an author, I want to have my citations labelled and formatted automatically, so I can get the tedious task of citation formatting out of my head.

NOTE: These user stories are written from a writing author's perspective. They are a work in progress, and they don't specify how references are structured and rendered. This ticket should be merged with the relevant user stories provided by the consortium members.

Proposal

See #1310 (also WIP).

@NickDuf can you have a look if you see issues with those? It would be good to merge this with the consortium-generated user stories.
