e.g., write → with --> or something similar. I imagine this as an optional, autocomplete-based system (e.g., not automatic, must accept with tab/enter, etc)

Also n & m dash with -- and ---, etc.

Really, the desire here is to make getting those nice unicode values out of a standard keyboard. Often (especially on windows) this is a PITA

This is now live in v0.8.0-alpha.1!

I'm going to leave this issue open for a bit so that people can make requests for additional glyphs.
