would be great to preserve the network structure (save history of who instated, revoked, or re-instated memberships over time).
update:
right now the first user is automatically a "member" and theoretically members should be able to add other members. Right now there is no way to change the status of a user to "member", even from the first user account.
do we need to come up with the full checklist of things to complete before a user account can obtain "member" status?
Just a button would be fine for now to upgrade a comrade to a member. Later we can add a queue to handle the membership pipeline more formally.
OK so this issue just tracks an enhancement to allow existing members to promote someone else's status from comrade to member. At some point another issue will be opened to track further enhancements.
This isn't done yet, right?
How do comrades become members today? Does someone edit the database by hand or something?
Briefly discussed how this might work at tonight's meeting.
This is the process by which ordinary accounts (that anybody can make) are converted into members. Any member should be able to approve a member who has submitted their application and gone through the review process.
