Manually registered at http://pypi.python.org/ as 'pydicom'. Tried easy_install and it worked, but leaves files wrapped up in egg so no easy access to examples etc.

Am closing this issue. Easy_install does work, seems to do egg still (even with flag to tell it not to) but can cd into the directory anyway (at least on linux). Easy_install instructions added to GettingStarted wiki page.

Status: Verified
