Try loading http://battleships.local:8000
. I changed the port to >1024 so that it could be run without root permissions (useful for development). You might also need to clear your cookies for the site. Let me know if that doesn't help.
James, can you share the install script, or perhaps give a walkthrough on what’s required for install using mac?

Sure, come find me after lunch and I'll help you install this locally. The installer is designed to work with Ubuntu. Fendy used a VM to run Ubuntu on his system.
Already at :8000. I just tried again in my VM at office machine, it has the same problem. Kind of stuck after Facebook authentication.
what 1024 are you referring to here? And cookies here is referring to the browser cookies, right?
After the update to the latest master, now when I load the local page battleship.local/ it just load forever.
There is no error captured on the /var/log/upstart/battleships.log
Any clue?
