Creating duplicate asset codes

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Create an asset using an existing asset code, fill in all required
fields and Save
2.
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
An red error message within tracmor should state "this asset code is
already in use" instead user receives an AJAX error (see attached screenshot)

Upon testing,  I have found this is still a problem.  However, now instead of
receiving an AJAX error,  you are able to save the asset with the duplicate 
asset
code,  which is probably even worse.
