Pulled from LD4P Pipeline sprint, which has a stake in this (but isn't the only project to have one).

[ ] Set up Developer's Forum on Spark or Kafka with External Speakers from Code4Lib Spark Group

Possible speakers (get them to talk about their work):

Corey Harper (esp. MapR & ML)
Michael della Bitta (esp. Scala & Spark)
Bepress DevOps team (AWS, maybe data API design, recommended by @eefahy )
...?

We should follow up with the above and try to get some dates for dev forums or other such events this fall.

Next dev forum dates (2 PM Pacific):

Thursday Sept. 21st (probably too late to plan anything, nobody available so far);
Thursday Oct. 19th;
Tuesday November 21st (move up due to Turkey Day?) ;
Thursday December 21st.

Emailed DPLA folks (Scott, Michael, Audrey) + Corey Harper about data engineering talks that can overlap with Dev Forum times available (as well as a possible Code4Lib 2018 workshop).

I'd love any other ideas about who to reach out to around this topic. Will keep tabs here on responses.
