Increase fade transition time in slideshow #238

As an experiment, can we try increasing the fade time in the slideshow from the current (I think 0.5s) to 1s?

I like the current transition but am curious if a slower one might generate a more relaxed feel to things that while maybe not ideal in a traditional web application, might feel good in the physical environment.

closing since #240 updated the time to 1s; if we want to revisit that we can re-open this (or just create another ticket).
