Memento Mori map09, Memento Mori 2 map02 gave me the same error. Perhaps the lack of doom 2 support may be to blame. If it is that common, I hope this gets fixed soon. What gpu do you have?
A bit late, but to answer the question, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080. Give me a bit, and I'll test with a Doom megawad.
Alright, after doing some hunting, I have found that the third episode of "th1rt3en.wad" results in a RT: 3 error. This is an example of a doom specific megawad that causes this error, so I have managed to rule out a lack of Doom2 support from the equation.
Running a Radeon RX 6700 XT. Wanted to see if this was gpu specific but looks like it is not, so ultimate doom is not spared either from RT 3 errors.. TNT Evilution map 2 gets this error as well, that map has a deep water hack where the backpack is located and memento mori map 9 also uses deep water hacks too. My hunch is these rt 3's happen on maps that use any visual hacks that works in vanilla doom ( maybe crystal sectors as well ). This is unfortunate, just finding mapsets that work is turning out to be a real pain even final doom is effected
https://www.doomworld.com/idgames/levels/doom/s-u/uac_dead doesn't work, but all wads in https://www.doomworld.com/idgames/docs/editing/ikspcial do work? That might narrow things down...
In order to help debug this bug, I have included a wad with a variety of SLUMP generated maps, three of which result in the RT:3 Crash. MAP09, MAP17, and MAP21. 2022-07-10-1930_the_solar_coast.zip However, I cannot even begin to figure out why those specific maps cause crashes, but not others.
File loaded is aaliens.wad. Honestly, the best solution would be to make that error more descriptive, instead of the numeric error, as I have a sneaking suspicion that that error might have to do with the size of the maps or number of light sources in ancient aliens. This error also occurs with a massive amount of other wads, with wads that do not have this error being incredibly rare.
