Parts pack for Kerbal Space Program that consists of a stockalike Service Module and accessories inspired by NASA’s Orion MPCV, and designed specifically for use with the stock Mk1-3 Command Pod.
While testing SDHI SMS 3.0.1 on a stock install with minimal dependencies (AnimatedDecouplers, RealChutes and MM), it was noted that the presence of the Boost Protect Cover (BPC) in the CSM stack interferes with the staging.
Specifically:
Pressing the Abort action group causes the Service Module decoupler to fire, but does not activate the escape tower rocket motors bound to the same action group (a stock decoupler does allow simultaneous triggering of the escape tower)
Pressing the AG0 action group causes the BPC decoupler to fire, but does not activate the jettison rocket motors bound to the same action group.
Possible solutions:
Remove the decoupler from the BPC, and use the docking port's new innate stageable decoupling; this leaves the BPC as essentially a solid rocket motor with a fairing-like skirt
Increase BPC decoupler force; this might, however, damage the docking port and/or not provide sufficient force to push the BPC away while the craft is moving at high speeds through the atmosphere.
@Kerbas-ad-astra has provided a fix in an unofficially-compiled test DLL, which has been verified to work in my setup - @Starwaster has also accepted the corresponding pull request.
