Alarm going off twice in the morning

I suspect this may have to do with something I'm doing when I go to bed.  I
have a NexusOne and have the firmware problem.  I'm concerned about leaving
the screen on all night with the same text causing screen burn.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. "Start Tracking"
2. Click the "home" button.  Open the "Finger Paint" application with black
background screen to prevent screen burn-in. 
3. Sleep
4. Alarm goes off in the morning.  Click "Dismiss"
5. Get up, start getting ready.  Alarm goes off again.  Click "Dismiss".  

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expect the alarm to go off once, but it goes off twice.

Which phone model do you have?
NexusOne

For me, it appears to go off somewhere in the 
middle if the range "correctly", and then again at 
the end of the range even when I have dismissed 
the alarm. To be honest, after being woken the 
first time I often quickly set an alarm with the 
builtin android clock for the end of the range as a 
kind of long snooze... perhaps this is confusing 
things.
