where to find the data needed to create the chart
what you envision the end result to be.
- on a separate web page?
- breakdown of information
- written explanations that would be helpful (if any)

From there we can start the discussion on how to achieve your vision from a technical standpoint in a way that benefits both Philly and any other school using this site for their own data.

I'm thinking a separate page would be a good way to create this for now. We could add it as a tabbed interface to the original homepage.

This means Ashleigh can replicate the existing code too, and alter it without affecting the original chart. We'd need to figure out how to separate the JS pieces to get that going, which would be a good first task.

You can find revenue information on pages 45-51 of the FY15 School Budgets document (see link below).

It sounds like we might need to go on data digging mission to get this info. I suggested Ashleigh email journalists or other people who've written about funding numbers to see where they got their data.

Here is the best breakdown I have found for the school district operating revenue FY2014:

Recap (from Ashley and my powwow tonight :) ):

Create a new html page (on the same level in the files as index.html). You can probably just create a copy of index.html and just remove the "guts" of it
Add in the new pie chart created in a sep repository
Create a nav on both pages linking them together (home and income maybe?) - take a look at bootstrap's nav pills as inspiration for CSS styles: http://getbootstrap.com/components/#nav
When all set in your own repo, create a pull request back to this one (yell if you need help :) )
