Still under development? #179

With 86 issues and clear run time problems is this even still under development.

Last release 6 months ago.

I have this SDK in my app and to be frank its a last resort to use it.

Takes 2-3mins to connect to the card reader for each transaction. Can randomly just disconnect and not find the reader even though it is no more than 30cm away

Really in its current state there is no point having the Sumup SDK in my app.

With terminal falling asleep and slow to wake, we are losing charity donations at our self service tablet. We need a away to keep SumUp awake (BLE ping every 2 minutes?)

HELP

@egalis Sounds like you're building your own app but if you get tired of trying to find workarounds for SumUp's BT connectivity issues maybe you'd like to try ours out (specifically for charity) - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=co.givealittle.kiosk

I must admit I am currently debugging another set of BT connectivity problems as I write this, but it's working pretty well for most of our users.

@superafroman -- thank you for your quick response! Much appreciated.

I am actually using GiveALittle's app. Everything is great; but the terminal being slow to wake really confuses the users and I know we're missing donations because of this. Hence my desire for a workaround.

Givers expect near instant contactless transactions because of what they experience in the shops/supermarkets. If the SumUp terminal could be kept awake I hope it would solve it (it's always plugged in).

Separately, I'm not 100% sure that we can get GiveALittle to always auto-login to SumUp. If I could deposit an access token on the device in a file, that would be super.

These devices are left alone (Samsung A7 Lite + SumUp on a stand). It needs to be low touch, because volunteers are elderly and don't know how to intervene to fix stuff.

Many thanks -- there are quite few people on here craving a stay-awake solution.

@egalis Great to hear you're already using Give A Little. (And sorry to hear it's still not performing well enough!) If you're up for trying out an early version of our next release we have a couple of improvements in it around BT that others have been finding useful. Ping me at hello@givealittle.co and I can send over update instructions.

On login, the app should stay logged in after the first login as long as you don't change your password. There's an issue related to this also fixed in the next update.

@egalis Just to let you know I've pinged back a reply. I suspect my first may have gone into your spam folder but yell out if you still can't see anything from me and I'll try from another address.
