Hi Is there some instruction how to upgrade the PIXIE RECPU for RE808 to latest version?
I have bought a second hand RE808 which works in overall but cannot make it n triggered by MIDI IN.
(The RE-CPU is ver 1.0. and of course I soldered a MIDI jack to RECPU 5 & 4 pins for MIDI In and run the commands on RE808 to activate the bootloader)
So I would like to update it to the last version of its firmware, bootloader, and emulator to clear up if this is due to currently installed versions (which I am not able to identify)
Or is there a better way for checking the current versions to avoid unnecessary actions and risking bricking the whole thing?
Sorry if this is the wrong place for this but could not find this info or any other alternative for asking this question and this may help others being is such situation.
After several trial-error attempts let me comment to my own question that maybe helps others...
MIDI IN worked: the connection to the RE CPU was not correct Looks v1.0 has the MIDI IN from the other side (closer to the back side of RE808) compared to newer versions?
in order for MIDI IN to work you have to activate the MIDI IN mode according to RECPU manual
Still did not manage the RECPU update but not urgent as MIDI In works
Next to do is to replace the 5pin MIDI port with a 7pin and use a DIY Y-cable :)
any comments welcome
