Crowded xaxis, sliding window. #528

Hello,

It has been a week now, I still can't use flot properly.

My xaxis represents names of RNA molecules (e.g. mir989, mir234a, mir547b) and
these are just strings. Each molecule has its own expression level in cell and
this value is pointed by yaxis. To date, I have more then 300 categories in
xAxis, but this number still increases. Consequently, when the chart is in the
initial state (scale 1:1), all these guys are crowded and it’s impossible to
read anything even if I place them vertically. In this case, a solution of my
problem might be a column chart in fixed scale (for example: only 50 bars with
labels) and below it would be nice to have a small detailed chart so I can move
along the xaxis.

I drew a schematic solution of my problem. Is it possible to do this? Any help
would be really appreciated. I'm helpless at this point. Thank you.

I was going to suggest you try the mailing list, but I can see you did that, so
I'll just close this now. The issue tracker is for bugs in Flot, not a place to
get help.
