validation error in profile update doesn't appear at top of the page #81

Validation errors are easy to miss because they don't show up at the top of the page; fix this by adding a notification at the top of the page indicating that the changes weren't saved.

mostly fixed in 049a91d0d54ea27be68b9f7b37356e7f525c8a8b ; needs an alertish style.
