Kill SMS? #458

Nothing quite like deleting code.

Out of 10's of 1000's of alerts, we have 59 that people have set to SMS alerts. We have 0 users who have SMS set as their default delivery mechanism. So: :+1:.

We sure do. :) I have to reach consensus internally before we'd do this, as it's more than an engineering decision. It is part of our marketing and one of our only real-time offerings -- and it's currently serving a special integration role with Call on Congress, which is what the latter half of remote.rb is about.

We're talking about it now, I'll update the thread later on.

We're going to need some more time to figure this out; not sure exactly how much. In the meantime, I'll leave the issue open.

We're going ahead with this - I'm in the process of ripping SMS out now. I'm going to add a link on the settings page somewhere to a suggested IFTTT recipe that would turn alert RSS feeds into SMS alerts.
