A better way to get back to 'today' main site from a chosen date

It's not immediately obvious to me (or maybe just how my mind works) that to get back to 'today' you need to choose today's date in the date input.

I suggest making the heading text(or logo when you get one) a link back to root just to clear all filters etc.
