Nevermind... I took updating to 3.36
as releasing the new version with the previously merged changes...
Anyway, maybe you could create a branch gnome3.34
(pointing to b3ea4c671b9806a5be9da5b81f1a557973319b40) for people using the version from Git to do not have to reset to some particular commit?
I upgraded to the latest version (linked Git repo with the latest commit - 930c3e091ba2d57d1dedbc9e8a871b29c541e351) and on manual (or automatic) screen lock the whole gnome-shell stops responding. I see my desktop background image and upper-right icons as on the locked screen, however, there is no date/time in the center location and ECS doesn't allow me to show the unlocking dialog.
In the system logs I see:
I the only way to rescue from that situation (and keep the application running) was
kill -HUP ...
for the gnome-shell process from the text console.gnome-shell-3.34.4-1.fc31.x86_64 on Fedora.
