Create a toolbar button that invites pasting of an API key so anyone can use the wiki.

Worry about an API key leaking if someone saves the wiki, say, to tiddlyhost.

In version 0.88, the password widget has been implemented but is not functional yet. This will allow API key withholding to be browser-side with zero risk of getting to the outside world, once it starts working.
