Hi Ben,

I've been talking with you on my other email address--- jporteno@uw.edu. Sorry if that's confusing; I've included the last email I sent you below (at bottom).

I'd like to attend the workshop (most of it, I will be busy on Friday morning) and be a helper. I'm fairly comfortable with all of the material, and I'm good at spotting typos. I've been a mentor for two iterations of the Community Data Science Workshop so I have some experience with doing this. I also am interested in participating in more Software/Data Carpentry workshops in the future and possibly becoming an instructor, so I'm looking forward to attending and going through the curriculum.

If that doesn't sound like a good plan or if you won't have room for me to be there, that's fine too. I am in the Data Science for Social Good program in the Data Science Studio where the workshop is taking place, so I can also just be around as needed.

Hi Ben,

I am a PhD student in the iSchool, and I am also one of the students in the Data Science for Social Good program this summer. I didn't sign up for the Data Carpentry workshop because I think I've been through most of the material already, but I may be interested in becoming a Data Carpentry mentor in the future. Can I stop by and audit the course to learn more about it? I can also help out with whatever's needed.
