The problem with all bosser related strategy is that the searing exarch and eater of the world altars are way too powerful (and that's basically the reason why scarabs are so cheap). Doing bosses requires you to focus on Maven, which means much less scarabs, maps, gems, eldrich currency, and even basic currency. And you may also need to trade invitations from time to time as relying on drop may not be enough.

I hope in 3.18 Maven related farming route will be buffed a bit, as bossing is fun. It just needs to be a bit more rewarding.
