Day 0: Tutorials Day 1

• Blather's tent
• 5000 miles to start building a house

Day 2

• Blather comes
• Airport open
• Donated 15 creatures to Blather to start building museum
• Start shop building questline
• First and island hopping: pretty unlucky that I rolled 2 native fruit island, probably should have save/reload, but at least got enough Iron Nuggets and finished the shop quest.

Day 3

• Museum needs another day
• Shop is set up
  • Mabel unlocked, will be available tomorrow
• Bridge quest starts, recipe completed and is being constructed
• Redeemed pretty darn good recipes
• Got 3 home development kits from Tom Nook, not sure if I'm able to finish all the furnitures today though as I'm on trip
  • apparently ladder can be crafted now but unless I do island hopping it's not going to be very useful, at least not today

Later today I made a series of mistakes today (after driving for 8 hours):

• Didn't prepare enough flowers (lack of yellow flowers, which is kind of random since I only got white/red/orange but need white/red/yellow) to welcome new neighbor 1
• Didn't leave enough oranges to craft fruit-furnitures (orange in my case) to welcome new neighbor 2
• Accidentally broke a rock while eating an orange, and it's my MONEY ROCK!

So the bridge and museum will be ready tomorrow, but I definitely will not be able to get enough bells to pay my 98,000 bells loan today, nor finish preparing furnitures for all 3 neighbors (one 1 day, should be at least 2). However neighbors should be done tomorrow as I'll use my ladder to get the flowers I need, and the oranges should be ready to harvest too. I also have another 2k miles ready for another trip - and this time I think I'll save/load to get some good fruits!

Something I could have done better: don't use native fruit to do landscaping too early. You don't really have enough at day 3, so leave them for island hopping and quest only.

Also backup your save before your trip. Getting new fruits is very important especially at early game. I wasted 4k miles in this run.

Day 4

• Museum open
  • Donate a fossil to unlock fossil assessment and multiple donation (time saver)
• New neighbor Tia came
• Mabel started doing business
• it's Sunday so turnip is unlocked. I got 100k bells so far but instead of paying loan, I brought 980 turnip and hopefully I can make 10k bells from them next week?
• I'm finally able to move all oranges together. It doesn't really do much other than making harvesting a bit efficient, and later on I'll be focusing on getting other fruits.
• I made a save and encountered a bamboo island; they don't do much but I didn't load my save either, just built a tiny bamboo garden in case I need to craft anything.

To conclude, I spent 3 island hopping and got no good fruit trees back so I'm still living in the most basic house. It's probably a bad strategy.

Day 5

• New neighbor Zuck came
• I didn't have room to take fence from Tom Nook after finishing the 3 houses quest, so I got mail today and now I can make fence around rocks to make harvesting a bit easier.
• Just realized that I could use vaulting pole to move across rivers in early game... after getting shovel from Blathers probably. It wouldn't be a game changer as I had the bridge built pretty early too but still it could help a bit (and I was wondering why ladder was unlocked before bridge was built).
• Turnip price was awful today and I only had 70k bells so I couldn't updating my house.
• I tried to save/load and use traveling voucher but I ended up on the same mysterious island all the time, so I guess S/L doesn't really work. Just need to burn more vouchers to get sister fruits I guess?

Day 5

• New neighbor Felicity came, the cat is probably the only one I really want to be neighbor with :D
• Now that we have 2+3=5 neighbors, service tent will be closed tomorrow.
• Should have done it 2 days ago... Paid off 98k loan and started the next phase, bigger house (storage 80 to 120 I think)
• Pears finally grown (mom's gift) and planted all 9 of them of course.
• Finally got a sister fruit, i.e. pear island. Took 20-ish back and planted 60-ish pears.

Day 6

• Resident services build is done
  • Isabelle comes
  • Ultimate pocket guide available for 8k, I got 32k miles so I can buy it right away.
• Leif comes today (fruits and non-native flowers)
• I just realized that using axe to farm rock has much slower animation than shovel, so you can only get 7 items from a rock. Don't do it.
• Campsite set up

Day 7

• Campsite ready
• Just learned some tree growing rules, like only 12 tress can be there around a 9x9 grid, 220 trees in total on the island etc.
• Overall nothing much happened.

Day 8

• Some pear trees started to grow. I'm struggling whether I should pay my loan or leave the bells for tomorrow's turnip trading. I'm against looking for guides, so I can only guess that the price of houses will be even more expensive. So maybe I'll keep my bells for now, and hope to earn 100k from it.

Day 9

• all in turnip
• sold all hardwood trees and cedar trees on high ground to make way for future pears
• bumpkins seems to be pretty solid
• first campsite visit is pietro. The moment I talked to him, I needed to invite him so I just reset. I want animals, not clowns.
• time travel to tomorrow morning to see turnip price because I'm not able to login tomorrow morning

Day 10

• I learned a bit about time travel and I was a bit keen to do a time travel run NG, to see how optimized the game play can be. But so far I'll stick with my current island.
• I decided to sell my turnips at 127 bell, the price of Monday morning, because all the calculators suggest the price won't go very high this week.
• Now sure how much I have earned, but I got 599k bells right now. I'll of course progress with my apartment and see what I can do next.
• Redd the fox started visiting.

• Museum closed for arts section
• Starting to harvest pears and pumpkins

Day 12

• So I just learned that you MUST accept the first camper, which was Pietro in my case. I heard he's pretty annoying so I wasted 3, 4 days to try to reject him, which turned out to be a mistake. This makes me want to restart the game. If I'd do that, I'd time travel and speedrun it and see how far I could proceed. I would be focusing on main quests and bell I think.
• Pumpkin and pear business starts to roll now, however without flipping turnips, the final 1 mil and 2 mil payment would take one or two months I think. And yes I finally took a look at the guides and I was actually quite close to "beat" the game, if I would invite Pietro days earlier.

Day 13

• Pietro moved in. Keep doing nook island hopping to convince new animals to come to Xibaozi, but I think you only meet one animal in day.
• Pear and pumpkin today: about 85k

Day 14

• Diablo 4 open beta started so I didn't do much in this game, just keep on farming to make more bells. I didn't even do island hopping to meeting new animals.

Day 15

• Diablo 4 feels very boring to play. Same thing goes to this game: it took too much time to harvest and watering stuff, which becomes more and more tedious when you progress the game. I think I'm going to go AFK soon.
• But I'm still recruiting new animals to get the first goal: have 10 neighbors. 2 left.

Day 16

• Talked to Isabel and we are 2 stars with 9 animals. She also asked for more bridges and fewer trees so I'll do some clean up first, then construction after my turnip trading - it's the 3rd Sunday today.

Day 19 perhaps? I don't think I did anything special yesterday and just built a bridge. I'll probably stop logging days, and let's see when I can get to 3 stars. I hope this Friday after I sell those turnips laying across the island.
