For the Search box, the Default Front End won't work properly. However we can
use Customized GSA Front End.
The Google Search Box for SharePoint comes with an additional XSLT file that is
not bundled with the Search Box installer. When you create a new front end for
the search appliance to use for displaying Search Box results, you must copy
the contents of this XSLT file to the search appliance. Otherwise, the Search
Box may not work correctly.

Where is this custom stylesheet? will it support all the search quality
features of GSA? What if some new GSA features are added? Will these new GSA
features overridden?

We have provided SPS_frondend stylesheet alongwith the search box code, which
user needs to use. If new GSA features are added, this stylesheet needs to be
modified.
Current Stylesheet is as per GSA 6.0. It would need to be modified to be in
compliance with the new features available after GSA 6.0.
