Description:
Superfluid streams and instant distribution agreements can allow for new forms of DAO governance & community coordination. In particular, money streaming allows for real world applications of conviction voting - a system for casting votes continuously, rather than in discrete lumps during proposals. We believe that money streams create an opportunity to improve upon the existing "one token, one vote" framework that currently constitutes most DAO decision making processes. Additionally, Superfluid could work well for this type of coordination mechanism because tokens are not required to be locked in a separate contract for funding to be streamed.
We also believe that money streaming can open up a variety of interesting new mechanisms for funding different grants, projects, and teams within DAOs.
A great submission to this bounty will implement a new governance mechanism which uses Superfluid. This mechanism may be centered around voting within DAOs, how projects are funded within DAOs, or, more broadly - anything that supports better community coordination within DAOs. It may also include an outline of new cryptoeconomic mechanisms in the form of an article, demo video, or whitepaper.
Prize: $2500 in USDC for the top submission, and $1500 USDC pool prizes for all submissions that submit a working repository that uses the Superfluid SDK or smart contracts in an implementation.
Time commitment: 1-2 weeks
Submission requirements:
1) Code repository for a working governance voting application using Superfluid streams
2) A link to a demo video, medium article, or whitepaper explaining your system and smart contracts
Bonus points if you also create a front end UX
Judging criteria:
We will rate this project based on the following criteria:
Technical implementation: Did you write working smart contract code that interacts with the Superfluid protocol?
Cryptoeconomics: Have you thought through how your framework would be applied in practice?
Utility: Is this something that DAOs could start using today? We know that it's tough to build something to production in a hackathon setting, but ideal submissions will also be serious about continuing to work on this hack.
Winner announcement date: November 12th.
