in short, when you add the Cart Modifier upgrade to the Assembler and put a cart in, you can now access and remove modules in the assembler.... but the cart itself moves into the cart modifier output (according to wiki, your SUPPOSED to have to click a button and expend fuel in hte assembler to remove modules, which are ejected into the Cart Modifier storage.)
as a result, when you "Assemble" your "new" cart, the old one, with all its parts, is still in the Cart Modifier, removeable. This means once you've built a part once you can duplicate it indefinitely at the cost of a tiny quantity of fuel.
