Any way to make beautiful cylinders without ugly seams? #1455

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.

Yes, using 2.2. 53, I printed a cylinder on top of a larger diameter cylinder vertically. Printed three versions of different sizes. I have two problems:

  1. Tried Align and I saw two thick vertical ugly lines. One on each cylinder. Since they are on top of each other as one model, why the two lines are not merged as one?

  2. Tried Corner and ended up seeing dots forming a helix pattern

  3. In the past used Randoms and saw lots of seam dots everywhere.

Describe the solution you'd like

Invisible or almost invisible seams and seam lines

Currently, is there a good way to hide the lines when printing cylinder vertically?

For hiding seam on cylinder, it's a difficult tuning process. Sometimes they are big, and sometimes i can't see them.

You can try:

For the align that doesn't align on the next feature, can't say anything without the project file.

Thank you. Is it possible to see the effect of changing these parameters, as close as what would happen after print, in the preview?

You can see some effect of the changes in the preview, but the seam is a side-effect of reality vs ideal world.
