Certain http live streams (vlc) stopped working since 3.2.8 #591

Ironically I have found one scenario where 3.2.11 works: Old Safari 5.0.6 with
Flash 10.3.

At least JWPlayer seems to have the same problem - fails in all browsers except
Safari 5.0.6.

Seems that vlc is just to erroneous to support. My findings of yesterday for
some reason do not hold true today.

Still, it is utterly strange, that Safari 5.0.6 has no problems in handling
this.

not something that is easily supported. never tested live transcodes via vlc
before personally, it's piping it to a progressive download file right ?

I suppose so. The only way to make such a stream workable with mplayer is to
use a fifo or similar.

I am not convinced whether it's worth the trouble to support this. The Safari
thing is utterly strange though.

Lowering priority.

I sill don't know how the stream is being recorded is this via vlc ? If so then
not worth the trouble I think as there is streaming services for this with
better documentation / support.

Yeah, I guess so, as the problem as far as I can see is not Flowplayer
dependent. Still it's interesting that all 3 players work correctly only in my
old Safari 5.0.6.
