Gnu's nitro emitters #767

After last changes (r14349) it doesn't look good with lower frame-rates (20-25 fps).

Look at the screenshots and this ticket: sourceforge.net/apps/trac/supertuxkart/ticket/1068

I suggest to revert this change. Avoid problems is more important than little better look.

Author: auria Can you calrify what the problem is? I can' spot anything obviously wrong in your screenshots. If course it's a little weird for a flying carpet to produce nitro, but that's unavoidable

supertuxkart-sourceforge-migration commented 10 years ago

Author: deveee Problem is that nitro emitters on screenshots are above the carpet. Not hidden below it, as it was wanted. Before this change emitters were at back of the kart and it looked much better with lower frame-rates. But it is only my opinion.

Author: hikerstk Auria improved the position in r14443. I leave this ticket open since there appears to be some difference between the emitter location, and where the particles are coming from. E.g. gnu's emitter are fine in blender, but the particles turn up too high. The Y position might depend on framerate (when I debug and wait a few seconds between frames, the particles originate above the heads of the driver). Maybe related to a gravity affector??

Author: deveee Thanks a lot for change it! Now it looks great.

Ticket can be closed. I wrote about this offset which depend on framerate in #1068.

supertuxkart-sourceforge-migration commented 10 years ago

Author: auria Actually, allow me to reopen this bug :) the offset we are seeing is a bug, what I committed is only a workaround and we still need a clean solution
