Add chat between players #3516

When starting STK I can see friends online, but don't have any way to communicate with them.

Having some kind of chat will be really helpful in order to discuss upcoming game. Probably, not even group chat, only p2p for beginning,

Join the server he is playing?

@Benau E. g., I just want to invite him when he isn't playing on any server.

when u join any server the time he online he will see the server you play

you see the xyz is now on server abc message as long as you are logged-in in supertuxkart

BTW, this leads to another idea: add ability to invite player in addition to/instead of chat.

Maybe it is better to gather this idea into something more cohesive. I agree with the original idea and i see two parts in this issue.

1) Implement chat at a global level outside of servers.

In case someone wants to chat privately. Or You don't want to play at the same server as your friend. Or someone is here just to hang out and not play in any server. There are many use case in my opinion.

2) Implement chat inside races.

In a match it is very likely that the first person and the last person will be a long time apart giving the different skillset of each player. So why not implement a way for people to chat until all the players have finished instead of having to leave the server then join the server again?
