New game cannot be loaded while music or sound is playing

I was playing the cow game. I loaded the tar and got to the point where the music starts playing. I tried to load the game again and I just got a complaint that start.xml could not be found.

It was unable to delete the music track because it was in use, and it subsequently failed to delete the .gamefiles directory
