Thanks. Efficiency is importsnt and we’ve already done a few profiling passes as well as having a couple of issues open for places we know we are still being wasteful. I’d rather have targeted issues for profiling results than a particular “let’s remember to be efficient” issue though so I’m going to close this one in agreement
I agree, just wanted to make a general statement, no reason to keep open, fine to close.

This post may not make sense/be obvious. Also this is more of a generic post without getting into hardware specs. It is just that some developers in general may not care as much about how much DSP their plugins use. Might also depend on plugin format type VST3, LV2, etc.
Already SC appears to have the ability to not use any DSP when the plugin is bypassed which is great. If possible, hopefully this plugin will be designed to use the least amount of DSP as possible, while playing but also at idle when the plugin is not being used but still active as well.
The idea is obviously that SC is an instrument and probably will be needed to be loaded many times in each session, depending on how many instruments user decides to use. So in this case every bit of savings could be beneficial when added up.
Again, all stuff most people already are aware of / obvious, but just felt like mentioning. Obviously this plugin is in development and only in the Alpha stage but maybe in the future there can be a stripped down "player" mode that uses less DSP if the main mode ends up using a good amount. I was going to make a separate post about this "player" mode in the future but it all depends where the plugin goes, again it is still in Alpha.
Thank You
