ha ha ha what a bonkers trick.
we've thought a lot about, and invested very little in, wavetable editing and creation in surge. But I'll tag this issue to think about it.
For now, you can do all that in serum, export the wave table, and surge will load serum wavetables.

One of the features that made Serum (from Xfer Audio) one of the finest EDM synthesizers is the usage of pictures as wavetables. I believe that this feature on Serum is the most user-friendly way of using pictures as wavetables - if not the ONLY way right now.
