Looks like you don't have Superuser from ChainsDD installed, use:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=682828 .

you can not root a 2.2.1 android. there is no way available now. this is why i
am unable to install the superuser. i have tried researching everywhere the 2.2
rooting way does not work.
if you know any way, please let me know. otherwise, you can close this IR but
then noone can run it without 2.2.1 rooting.
thanks

Root is an essential precondition for this tool.
But if you have a nexus it should always be possible ase you can connect with
adb.
After the oemunlock (which you probably have done in the first hour you had it
;-)) you can flash a recovery (for example AmonRA's) and start it.
Then you can use adb shell to access the system.
