Save Mobile carrier profiles #4

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Open the Market Enabler Beta 3
2. Go to Set Custom
3. Put your Custom Values - there is no option to save this for later usage

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I would expect that any customer values that are put in there would be
saved and appear into the Setting List (2nd tab)

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Beta 3

Please provide any additional information below.

I was expecting the same. The default values should either be saved in de list
or there should be a reset
to default button. An other feature that would be nice is to be able to add
your own profiles to the list. I
love the app btw!

Changed the type to enhancement because this behavior wasn't intended but will
be
included in the next rewrite.
Its planned to remove the option to allow user input but use the full list
found on
wikipedia with all codes (all countries should be covered then ;-))

Actually, I quite like the option to make custom sets and would leave it. Simple
reason is that there is a difference between the connected carrier and sim
carrier --
i.e. when roaming, these two values ALWAYS differ.

Yes, they do differ, but if they are alike it doesn't prevent you to access the
paid
apps in the android market...

IS there a way to "fake" an android build ? I had to root my HTC Hero to be
able to
install and use MArket Enabler, but since it's rooted I cannot access copy
protected
apps in the Market (paid or free). Is there anything Market Enabler could do to
help
here ?

fmottiat:

You where able to see copy protected applications prior to rooting though?

What ROM are you currently using?

I believe I have a fix -- contact me via strazz@gmail.com and I'll give you a
few
steps to perform, I need a specific log file from your phone, then we should be
able
to compare your values to mine and fix the problem ;)

I have the Build number 1.76.66.5 146733 CL 47042 release-keys
Software version 1.0.0.A6288
Kernel version 2.6.27-a5504199 htc-kernel@and18-2 521
I couldn't say about prior to rooting the HTC Hero, that's the first thing it
did
when I got it.
There are several threads on the net stating the same issue about HTC Hero, ie
not
being able to see copy-protected applications.
