Scraper reporting no issues exist when an issue does exist #135

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
DESCRIBE THE PROBLEM:

I'm receiving the following error when scraping "Paradise X #A.cbr". After
selecting "Paradise X Special: A" from the list of series found it displays the
error:

"You Selected 'Paradise X Special: A'.

This series cannot be displayed because it does not contain any issues in the
Comic Vine database.

You can add missing issues at..."

However, there is an issue at Comic Vine:
http://www.comicvine.com/paradise-x-special-a/49-24750/

WHAT STEPS WILL REPRODUCE THIS PROBLEM? (Please include the exact name of
the eComic book that you were trying to scrape, if possible.)
1. Scrape "Paradise X #A.cbr"
2. Select "Paradise X Special: A" from the Series list and select "Show Issues"
or hit "OK"

WHAT VERSION OF COMICVINESCRAPER ARE YOU USING?

1.0.27

PLEASE PROVIDE ANY ADDITIONAL INFORMATION THAT MAY BE OF USE

I believe I have ran into this on other comics recently as well, however I
don't remember which ones. If I run across them again I will update this
report to include the other information.

Quick update, I upgraded to 1.0.29 before actually submitting this but forgot
to update the version number in the report.

Thanks for the bug report.

This issue may be related to a very similar bug:

http://code.google.com/p/comic-vine-scraper/issues/detail?id=129

It has to do with an error in ComicVine's API, a query that should return
results for some reason doesn't, probably because of the weird punctuation in
the names. The issue you are experiencing may be related.

I'll look into this when I have a chance.

(BTW, if you run into any other series that have this problem, I would very
much appreciate hearing about them!)
