DDOS from my DigitalOcean droplet #112

Just thought i would share this with all. Just got an email from DO an hour ago saying my droplet contributed to a DDOS effort . Probably i didn't secure it properly - but apart from installing node and project related items. So stay safe everyone.

We are writing to let you know that your Droplet ubuntu-s-1vcpu-1gb-nyc3-01 at 104.248.2.245 has been disconnected from the network after it contributed 1.1 Gbps to a 15.7 Gbps Distributed Denial of Service attack. The network traffic from your Droplet matches a pattern of malicious traffic originating from other Droplets targeted at a specific victim. We understand how disruptive this may be to your work; however, it was critical for us to disconnect your Droplet to reduce further harm.

Your path to resolution will be influenced by how you use ubuntu-s-1vcpu-1gb-nyc3-01, your technical expertise, and/or your time available for investigation.

Ugh, hate DDOS attacks - always a challenge to mitigate.

Fortunately, P3 should be running on Netlify instead of DigitalOcean, so this should not be a problem as it relates to this course.
