Confusion on deputy being in the room #49

When the deputy is out of the room:

>x office
There's a big, wooden desk in the middle of the room, and behind it
sits the deputy.

>x meal
On closer inspection, it looks like a rancid piece of meat, a metallic can and 
a spoon.

The deputy has been watching you out of the corner of his eye and he 
smiles sardonically. "I see you found your dinner. Or was that last week's 
dinner? Har, har!"
