Somewhere within Twisty's UI, we should offer a way to browse a directory
of hand-picked z-games. The directory would be maintained by the authors
of twisty as a set of "personal recommendations" -- perhaps listed with
short descriptions, and links to download them directly to the android device.

FYI, I have something 'vaguely' like this list now -- see

FYI, the official port of Frotz to iPhone (now available on the iPhone
appstore!) has
a feature like this now: it allows you to browse the IFDB site and download
any .z
game directly from there. Seems like we'd be well off imitating exactly that.

Helpful example here!

"Some applications, such as games, need to download data files to the SD Card.
This
sample shows how to download files from a web server to the SD Card. It provides
error checking and a downloader UI. (You provide the web server and the data.
:-) )"

Nice starter list. One note: You can download Hitchhiker's Guide from Douglas
Adams'
web page. http://www.douglasadams.com/creations/hhgg.z3

Umm ... I wouldn't include that link in the app. The game is hosted on that
site to
be used with an online Java interpreter. Just because they haven't secured the
data
file very well, doesn't make it legal to download for offline play, I'm afraid.
