Hi Andre,
thanks for the notice. However, I am not really a Mac user and just used my wife's IMac from 2017 running Ventura (13.6.7) for testing the python script and creating the self-extracting-python-executable. I don't remember what I have changed in the settings at the then time.
You seem to have it figured out how to run this single-executable of CNC14Camera on a Mac. May I ask you to add a corresponding sentence or a paragraph to the README.md and send it to me? I will then update the README.md accordingly.
Best Regards
Gerd
Gerd,
Please find attached a little note on using CNC14Camera on a Mac. You may adapt and use the text in your Readme as you see fit.

I did try out CNC14Camera. On my 8-year-old MacBook with OSX 12.7 it does run, albeit with an issue that I will explain below.
On my 1-year old iMac with OSX 14.6, it crashed with a fatal error. That may have to do with the fact that my iMac has an Apple Silicon processor (and no longer Intel). What we need these days are so-called 'universal apps' that contain code for Intel as wel as Apple Silicon. I read on Internet that you need QT 6.2 to build such a universal app for Mac.
The other issue is that executable files will not run 'because they are from an unknown developer'. Executables need be notarised by Apple; that is an automated process that checks I do not know what; if the check is successful, Apple will digitally sign the app with your Apple developer license. As a result, that app wil run on all Macs from all people.
I do not think Apple is willing to notarize a QT executable. The only way your CNC14Camera will run a Mac without digital signature is if the user expressly allows the use in System Settings/Privacy. You might wish to explain that as non-tech ical users may not know that.
I hope this helps. Regards, ahartman, belgium (and owner of a CNC14 mill).
