Edit manpages #84

Changed the formatting to make the manpages look like other POSIX manpages on Linux (bold constant names, bold synopses, underlined variable names).
Fixed a few grammar errors.
Dropped word wrapping out of the few outliers that had it (I figured it was best left to manpage browsers).

I found several distinctly British (more) & several distinctly American spellings within the docs. I've ended up making both of the PRs use American spelling, as that's pretty much the standard in software.
