API in this case could just be the server (or, more likely, a :fork_and_knife: of it) for the web interface of hermes.
I like the idea! I came across a web app a couple years ago that had an "Order pizza" button and some selections for toppings.
Novel thing about the app was that it would choose the pizza restaurant itself, based on opening hours, proximity, price, etc. You just tell it "I WANT A PIZZA" and then it delivers one :)
So postmates API does not allow you to search for food items, i.e. pizza. The request sent to postmates is only the retrieval location and final destination.

Looks like they shut down.

We should make an API and then build the Slack command (or even a text interface w Twilio).
The API should be able to accept food delivery by emoji :+1:
