abs. encoder error handling causes data corruption #181

We observe large regions of missing encoder data in the log files. This might 
be causes by the jump detection and handling of the encoder values. We have to 
find a more sophisticated way to handle encoder read errors. This data is 
critical to experiment evaluation and may cause fatal controller errors.

I (hopefully) improved the workaround for this issue. Closing, unless we find 
that the workaround is not effective.
