Typing "PESSTO --version" reports the current pyraf version, not the version of PESSTO pipeline. But "PESSTO --versio" or any short version of the word version reports the correct version of PESSTO pipeline.
Here is the current output example.
kws::rocket { ~ }-> PESSTO --vers
PESSTO 2.2.2
kws::rocket { ~ }-> PESSTO --versi
PESSTO 2.2.2
kws::rocket { ~ }-> PESSTO --versio
PESSTO 2.2.2
kws::rocket { ~ }-> PESSTO --version
2.1.6
kws::rocket { ~ }-> PESSTO -v
pyraf version 2.1.6

bug fixed, there were some import not needed, PESSTO --versions was actually not pointing to the version of the ntt pipeline, but to the version of a different module
