About the virtual joystick inside the GUI: There is an internal timer, sending the corresponding move-command (setup-joystick) every 0,5 second if mouse button is pressed. If speed is too low, movement is not finished after 0,5 sec. the next command appears and will be set into the grbl-command-stack. It seems grbl is not responding on mouse-up. Therfore I add the checkbox below the virtual joystick, to send the Stop-Jogging command. https://github.com/gnea/grbl/wiki/Grbl-v1.1-Jogging I don't see a bug, it is just setup of the virtual joystick control in setup.

About real joystick: I don't have one, will try to implemtent without be able to check.

I bought a 2nd hand Microsoft joystick (Side Winder) and it works...

Did you follow the instructions, how to use a PS3 controller on windows-PC? For me it sounds like: it's easier to buy an original PC-Joystick (I got mine in a set of thee for 10€):

I was able to install the PS3 joystick works 100% on Windows 7 32-bit, works fine also on GRBL Ploter, analog directional XY and buga when not responding sometimes, just giving Hard Reset that works again but buga is very easy
