Notes

On firefox 25.0.1 and Safari 7.0 on OSX 10.9, chrome on win7 the picture is rendered correctly.
On firefox 25 on win7, the svg renders correctly. Only on rendering the png the glitches as depicted in above pictures occur.
I cannot explain these from the source svg

Retest in FF 30 on win7: same result (bit-for-bit). Other browser/ platform combinations still work fine.

Retest in the FF of the date (20140226) on win7 and the most recent version of canvg. Same results :-( Suspect graphics card of my windows machine.

It doesn't seem to be in our circle of influence to solve this, so I'll close it.
